Queen & Country Documentary Film

Film maker Robert Roy explaining the journey he took to produce Queen & Country.
Senator Pamela Wallin introducing the documentary she earlier narrated at a viewing of the film, which she co-sponsored.

Britons have kept a strong connection with their military by building an important relationship between their armed forces and their universities. Each year, hundreds of students join the Officers Training Corps where they develop leadership skills that will serve them well in their future work world. But the adventure also provides students with an opportunity to serve their country.

Dr. Neville Poy, a retired doctor and the Honorary Colonel of Toronto’s Queen’s York Rangers, traveled to Cambridge University with a documentary team to witness what makes the OTC one of the most popular clubs on campuses across the UK. The film is produced by Robert Roy, Head of the 7-Year Project for the Breakout Educational Network, narrated by Senator Pamela Wallin.

Sponsored by Senators Wallin, Poy and Rompkey, a viewing of this documentary took place in Ottawa May 26, 2009.
