Pamela Wallin Flies With The Canadian Snowbirds

What a thrill to fly with the Snowbirds! It was a gorgeous Canada Day on Parliament Hill with the Royals—William and Kate—looking on. Our Air Force Snowbirds were making their annual aerobatic flight over Parliament Hill where thousands of Canadians gather each year.
As Honourary Colonel of the Air Force this was an extraordinary opportunity. And the Snowbirds make a special effort to make sure that civilians are ready to fly.

My pilot for the flight was fellow Saskatchewanian, Capt Denis Bandet, from Regina. Capt Bandet came to the Snowbirds after flying CF-18 fighters out of Cold Lake and Bagotville. He flies Snowbird 6 in the outer right wing position.

What an incredible experience! From take off to landing, every movement in breathtakingly close formation. It is incredible to soar high in a clear blue sky, mere feet away from other jets, streaking through the air at hundreds of miles per hour—but all under perfect control!
